JANUARY NEWSLETTER
A Happy New Year to you all. I hope 2009 will be a healthy, successful and productive year for everyone. I am looking forward to working with all your children during the next few months and am sure that school staff and I will work effectively during this transitional period.
I look forward to meeting many of you at the Parent Council meeting on Monday 12 January at 7.00 pm – all welcome.
P1 Enrolment Week – Monday 19 January to Friday 23 January Enrolment week is fast approaching. Parents wishing to enrol children should come along to the school any time during this week, bringing their child’s birth certificate with them. Notices will have been placed in local nurseries. If you know of anyone with children due to start school in August, please pass this information on. I have a special invitation to parents for a brief meeting on Friday 23 January at 11.15 am as an introduction to
Kodaly All children will be taking part in the Kodaly singing programme this term. Mrs Bell, a Kodaly tutor will visit weekly on a Monday morning and work with both classes to further develop their singing and musical knowledge.
Staffing/Visiting Specialists P4-7 will be taught by Mrs Henley on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays while Mrs Kerridge will be teaching the class on Thursdays and Fridays. They are working together to provide an effective teaching programme during the next few months.
We welcome Ms Lussier for Music on Monday afternoons, Mrs Wood for Science on Tuesday afternoons, Mrs Taylor for ICT on Wednesday afternoons and Mrs Kerridge will continue with her PE on Thursday mornings. Each class has been allocated a time with each specialist.
School Uniform This year we are ordering new school uniform in early February. An order form will be sent home soon. If you require any school uniform prior to the main order please contact the school office.
School Meal Preference Slips These must be returned now on Thursdays for the following week. Returns can be weekly, monthly or termly. Email correspondence welcome.
Severe Weather Please find attached updated Emergency Telephone Chains. All parents will already have received Adverse Weather Procedure leaflets and Pin Number notifications. Please contact school office if further copies required.
Parking Parents and staff should refrain from parking adjacent to the two right-angled corners behind the school. Parking is causing delivery problems for some properties.
